Football
Our football clubs follow the mini soccer philosophy which prioritises growth and development in a fun and age-appropriate environment.
Key principles:
Learn through play – the primary focus is on ensuring that children have fun and enjoy themselves whilst learning to play football. Our coaches prioritise providing positive reinforcement and support to all players and ensure that every child gets the chance to play and participate, regardless of their skill level.
Skills for life – emphasis is placed on those transferable skills that will stay with the children for life, such as teamwork, resilience, and integrity - personal growth is more important than winning matches!
Technical skills – all our sessions are played with fewer players on smaller pitches to maximise each child’s game involvement – more shots, more saves, more passes, more dribbles, more tackles – more goals!
Age-appropriate & inclusive – rules are adapted to be more suitable for young children, making the game easier to understand and play. Children are taught the basics of game, tactics, and teamwork in a simple and engaging way. Children are split into groups depending on their age and ability, so that they can progress at their own pace, without pressure.
Our football clubs are all led by an FA qualified football coaches who have at least 5 years’ experience teaching football to primary school age children
Every sessions ends with a ‘mini soccer’ football match where the children will get a chance to put into practice what they have learned during the session
Player of the week award every session
Sportsperson of the week award every session (awarded to children who demonstrate our values of fairness, respect, and integrity during the session)
